Chapter 1.3 – Happy 3rd Birthday

A Message From Desporo

When we created Sentinels Republic. 3 years ago, we wanted to create a place for the SWG community to enjoy the game how it should have been way back on SOE live servers. I feel that we have certainly achieved what we originally set out to do and a whole lot more besides, with the wonderful community we have here at SR.

We have pushed the boundaries of what can be achieved time and time again, with new and exciting content and events for you all to enjoy and a whole lot more of that to come in the future.

Our 3rd Year Anniversary publish is packed full of content, combat balancing and fixes. The development team have worked so hard to give you all of this in such a short space of time and we have overcome so much within the past year; we have upgraded the server hardware twice in twelve months  and have seen our online population reach a high of almost 600 players online repeatedly.

So what does the future hold you might ask for Sentinels Republic and where can we go from here? The main goals for the next 12 months are:

  • to make sure we have server stability and that the hardware is sufficient for demand
  • to rebase our live server, so that adding new content in the future is much quicker and delivered through more regular patches
  • a real focus on adding new and innovative content
  • new assets such as buildings, weapons, tools and so much more, which will be exclusive to SR
  • a streamlined way of fixing reported bugs a lot quicker
  • a revamp of current planets
  • plus a whole lot more

We have a very bright future here at Sentinels Republic and I personally thank you all for sticking with us through the good times and the tough times of this past year. We have come out of it even stronger than ever before and I’m very excited for the future and what we can achieve together.

Patch Notes

Third Birthday Celebrations

  • Visit Despolo Wice in Theed to collect your birthday memorabilia.
  • Double XP will be active from the beginning of the event.

New

  • Loading background and Galaxy Loading screen for Birthday Celebrations
  • Rule Addition
    • 1.9 Jedi and bounty hunters play an integral part of pvp here. Bounty hunters may work together or individually, and since this is a hunt the kill stealing guidelines will NOT apply. We would ask that Jedi are very mindful not to afk on outside spaces of buildings in order to waste BH’s time. Those that choose to do so repeatedly will face sanctions for griefing in line with our policies. BH who experience this will need to submit 2 time-stamped screenshots 15 minutes apart, the first showing an attempt to contact the player, and the second showing that they are still afk and have not responded to the tell.
    • If you are not familiar with the server rules, please take some time to get acquainted with them.
  • Wall packs
    • New wall modules are available. Find the schematics for alternative wall types that can be used in your structures for decoration.
      CREDITS: Amazing walls from Borrie
  • Worn Compass Schematic

    • Added TSE Carbonite Catalyst, Digestive Enzyme, Arcon Fertilizer and UniTech Installation Beacon combinations
  • Destroy Mission
    • Selecting Difficulty and Direction
    • Players may now select Mission Difficulty and Mission Direction.
    • Requires a “Compass” or a mission terminal in a Ranger Camp.
    • Accepting a mission while having a missing direction set on a mission terminal will use a Compass charge.
    • Master Rangers do not need to use a Compass in order to accept a destroy mission with a direction set.
    • Mission difficulty does not consume a Compass charge.
  • Worn Compass
    • Using a Worn Compass will consume the compass and reward the player with between 40 and 50 “charges.”
    • Damaged Compass Frame – obtainable from Rangers foraging. Better chance with better forage skill.
  • Guild Status Command
    • /guildStatus [[-list] [-online] [-offline] <playerName> [<TARGET>]]

Upcoming Changes

Moving forward on SR, we will be aiming to bring you monthly updates.  Whether it’s a cool new weapon, tweaks to existing content, that house on the hill that you’ve been longing for, new creature discoveries, new pets, maybe that can be trained as mounts, a shiny new speeder, new armour styles or a snack for out in the field, Monthly Patch Day will have you looking forward to that server downtime in anticipation of the goodness that will be available when the server comes back up!

Larger changes, such as new planets, installations and other planned projects will be announced in advance with expected delivery dates.  Dates may slip, but we’ll keep you informed of what’s in the pipeline for your enjoyment.

Credits

Many thanks go to our outgoing Lead Developer, Tyclo, who was with SR for many years and contributed so much to the server.  A large amount of this release was down to his efforts when on the team.
Thanks to all our current team also for their work in getting all these changes together ready for testing and to the players and staff who have helped test all this.
Finally, thanks to the admin and CSR team for supporting the community and dealing with issues, and of course to the staff who keep us entertained with events.
