Patch 3.01 – Stay On Target

After an epic amount of work, Jaylan and Raven have implemented many additional upstream changes.

The primary goal of this deploy was to catch us up on some fundamental changes made by swgemu so that we can properly rule in/rule out additional factors impacting performance.

We are monitoring this very closely, and should we see signs of gameplay degradation we are in a position to quickly move back to the previous build.

If you notice abnormal performance behaviors (lag, rubberbanding, increased client desync, etc…), then please let someone know ASAP so that we can take a look at resources.

With this, we’ve pulled lots of changes from upstream that we had previously skipped due to performance issues, fundamentally;

  • Signficant region system changes (what drives city areas, build/nobuild areas, POI zones, spawn regions, etc..). Core planets updated by swgemu and custom content planets (kaas, mandalore, etc..) are functional but may require further tuning.
  • Known issue of some city labels (on planetary maps) being missing/incorrect.
  • Significant spawn system changes (coinciding with region changes) which are drastically different in definition syntax. Core planets updated by swgemu and custom content planets (kaas, mandalore, etc..) are functional but will require further tuning.
  • Fundamental command queuing system changes (how the commands a player requests are actually executed by the server)
  • In particular, lots of changes around this system with pets
  • Several TEF related changes (from swgemu) which SR will need to review and possibly revise in the future.
  • Several changes to prepare/resolve issues with Secrets of the Syren and CoA3 quest lines.
  • Several pet related behavioral/AI fixes
