Chapter 3.1.0 Patch Notes

Greetings everyone.

We have a major update for you this week- Chapter 3, Update 1!

We also have upcoming 6th birthday festivities starting this upcoming weekend, July 29th. If you haven’t checked out the specifics, go give #events a look on Discord.

We’ve had quite a few things queued up on Test Center for awhile now, and are excited to announce that those changes are going live imminently.

The past few months have been challenging in many ways, but we are very happy to have made significant progress and be moving forward.

Over the rest of the year, you can expect us to start actioning several things;

  • Mandal Motors re-enabled
  • Leadorn (World Boss) finished and activated
  • Vehicle Improvements (Multi Passenger, anyone?)
  • Further BE Fixes and possible revamp
  • New Creatures for CH/BE
  • New Vehicles
  • New questlines and content designed to deliver new assets into the game.

Of course, you can expect us to continue placing performance and uptime first. We have many changes going live in this release that we hope improve our position further here, and their specific impact will be analysed.

Note that we are not promising timelines on the above, but wanted to let you know the upcoming big items on our internal roadmap.
We hope to be able to publish a roadmap for the community in the coming weeks.

Gameplay (Bio-Engineer):
[FIX] Mantis 0001706: BE DNA sample shows Ranged Attack for those without ( 2 )
[MODIFY] Adjust BE special stick rates. This should more accurately represent SR intended rates, as they were pre re-base*
[MODIFY] BE DNA crafts are now able (rarely) to roll 2 AOEs on the same craft
[MODIFY] BE DNA is set to prefer specials via the same mechanism before (slot based) ( 2 )
[ADD] Added ability to enable additional special selections from other DNA sample slots during the crafting process. This is currently disabled but feature complete. ( 2 )

An asterisk (*) indicates that these changes are subject to additional review and tuning in the near future.

1 GCW Changes:
Some of the GCW code pre rebase wasn’t added and will be reinserted with these updates.

  • This code prevented items being placed in bases to make terminal access trickier. Please ensure that any bases containing items are removed within 1 week of the announcement being made.
  • Base placement proximity to other bases. This should mean the Chapter 1.7 code is now working properly. Whilst we acknowledge a pvp channel vote since indicated a desire to change this to one base per faction, concerns raised about how that could be exploited have not yet been fully explored or solutions found. Implementing those changes will not be actioned until we are more confident in a viable approach and that we won’t be creating a greater workload for the team.

In addition, we would like to remind all GCW participants that opposing players should have access to bases at all times. If you have a concern around items in the base / entrance blocking / griefing then please take screenshots, and report it to Coz in discord or via our dedicated email – [email protected]. You will need to include a waypoint and planet. This should be done in private so that we can investigate and resolve issues quickly

2 Bio-Engineer:

There are several frustrating issues with BE currently, and we are aware of them. We have plans to work on resolving these as quickly as possible, and will be pulling in several fixes with regard to this from upstream.

Additionally, we are actively discussing – with the community – what adjustments would better position both BE and CH as more viable options. We will need testing assistance, so keep an eye on the test channels if you are interested.
