We have banned over 30 accounts today for: Credit selling, credit farming for sellers, buying from sellers, multiple accounting and real money trading items.
Whilst we have banned what we believe are the core accounts, we are continuing to investigate some leads. Therefore, we would strongly recommend that if you have been involved in any way, that you contact Coz now whilst there is a chance to avoid a permanent ban.
We would also categorically state that no staff member on their play or staff account was involved.
The costs of Real Money Trading (RMT) on the server are significant. There has been an impact on the economy in game and we hope that things will now improve.
It has had a significant negative impact on key members of the team, who have had to deal with the investigations. Frustratingly, we estimate that the money people have paid to traders would have covered the server costs for several months of legitimate gameplay.
In addition, volunteer staff have had to spend hours on investigations, code changes, collating and discussing evidence.
It has halted new content development, events planning, and the time allocated to look at loot drops on some key mobs.
Anyone who feels the need to discuss their ban should contact Desporo directly. Please do not contact any other member of the team to tell us how we’ve got it wrong about your friend. We have not taken these decisions lightly.
As always, if you have concerns about a player, please contact Coz with those concerns privately, so that they can be investigated. We have had and will continue to have a zero tolerance policy around RMT and have put in place additional measures to support us in identifying those involved moving forward.
